Help my daughter Save Skywalker, a sick horse.

My daughter needs your help to raise money so she can give Skywalker a new life where he'll get everything he needs and more. He is severely underweight with a sore leg and a terrible case of rain rot.

My daughter told me about a horse she'd seen in a paddock near where they leased some land. The horse was starved and very neglected with no hope of proper nutrition or love. She went and found the owner of the horse and asked if she could have him. At first the owner said she could if she gave her a beast as payment to which my daughter agreed. The owner then changed her mind and wanted $500 for the horse. My daughter had very little money, but said that she would pay $100 a fortnight until the $500 was paid. My daughter had to buy the horse regardless of the financial pressure it would put her under. She knew he deserved a better, fuller, happier life.

He is very malnutrished with severe rain rot so bad that most of his back half will be bald by the time they've finished treating it. She had to have two vets out and one equine vet because of his sore leg which turned out to only be a foot abcess and is now slowly healing. His feet badly need trimming so she's getting a farrier out soon. He's now been put into a paddock with sufficient grass and is on hard feed to help gain his weight back. A new cover has been purchased to help keep him warm and dry.

Its hard to believe that this horse was a famous racehorse that won many races in Hong Kong and made a lot of money for the owners at the time and for the people who gambled on him. He was bred in Australia and later sent to Hong Kong to race. When his racing career was over he was sent to New Zealand on a 'save the ex racehorse scheme'. Sadly he fell into the wrong hands and was neglected and starved. What a sad retirement he's had so far. Thankfully, he's now in the right hands and receiving the love and care he so badly needs and deserves.

My daughter needs your help to raise money so she can give Skywalker now named Baloo (from the Jungle Book) a new life. She wants to care for the horse and make him fit and well again. She still owes payments for the horse and now has large vet bills with many more to come. She wants to build a stable for the horse and keep buying hardfeed to give him the best start. Skywalker was once a fine looking horse and her mission is to get him back looking like he used to but she desperately needs your help. She is not asking for a lot of money just enough to help her give Baloo everything he needs. Please can you give what you can, any little bit helps.
