Help Shylo find his Furrever Home

$340 of $800 goal
Given by 10 generous donors in 14 days

A fundraiser to fix Shylo's teeth and find him a Furrever home

Waipukurau, Hawke's Bay

Shylo is a male fox terrier cross who is approximately 6 years old.

He came to Ruahine Animal Rescue from the Central Hawkes Bay District Council for rehoming after being surrendered. He is a lovely sweet boy who would love a place to call his home.

Unfortunately Shylo needs some urgent dental work completed before we can rehome him and we would love your help ❤

The team at CHB Vets have given us a great quote for the work and we are running this give-a-little page to cover the $800 needed for the dental work and to create interest in Shylo so after his surgery we can find him a Furrever home.

About us

There is a proliferation nationwide of unwanted and dumped dogs and cats. Rescue services are struggling to cope with the demand. Such animals in our area need our intervention and protection.

Ruahine Animal Rescue was been founded by a group of passionate animal lovers most of whom have been involved with the now defunct Waipukurau SPCA. Their volunteering ranged from 1 to 29 years.

Since the closure of the Waipukurau SPCA the RAR has identified a significant absence of animal rescue in the area and to address this we have a vision to provide a compassionate and safe haven for animals in Central Hawkes Bay running a rescue organisation based significantly on using the community for fostering.

In addition, we recognised that the impact of the economic situation compounded by Cyclone Gabrielle has created unfortunate changes in circumstance for some people who are forced into rehoming their loved pets and are now desperate for help in this.

Ruahine Animal Rescue is determined to offer the community a compassionate alternative service for care of animals and long term become a registered charity.

Thank you to everyone who donated to Shylo's fundraiser, we have the best news! With your support the $800 was raised and Shylo had the operation on Friday, sadly they needed to take out 13 teeth, but he has made a full recovery.

But it doesnt end there... our post about Shylo was shared far and wide and as a result we are finalising the paperwork right now for Shylo's Furrever home!

This definately is a happy ending to this story and we couldnt have done it without you!

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
