Thames Coastguard is a small team of dedicated boaties who need a new Rescue boat to save lives in the Firth

Waikato

After 16 years of service to our area, Thames Rescue has come to the end of life and needs to be replaced - as you can imaging this vessel has put to sea in all weathers and at anytime of the day and night to assist people who have come unstuck in the Firth of Thames.

In the past 3 years we have assisted 161 people and a small number of those would not have been alive today if it wasn't for this dedicated team.

The plan is to replace the 6.8 with a 7.3mtr Naiad which will give the crew a little more working space onboard.

Total cost for this project is just over $400K to completion
