Wellington born Amber Crossman, her husband Ruben, and three young children have lost their home as a result of Hurricane Harvey.
International
Amber & Ruben's home is in Fort Bend County, one of the worse hit by recent flooding. Five days on, their home remains at least 4ft underwater and is expected to remain in an inaccessible flooded state for weeks, potentially months.
No one could have predicted the deluge of rain. To put Harvey's rainfall into perspective Katrina received 16.33" compared to Harvey's 51”.
Sadly, flood damage is not covered by their home insurance policy - so they are without insurance.
They are thankful for their lives and find themselves trying to process the emotional toll of the flood and make sense of their new situation.
Amber is my only sister. She has found herself in this dire situation and I am trying anything to help her and her family.
The money raised in this campaign will be used to help rebuild their lives and will be used towards restoring their home to a safe, livable condition. If not salvageable, then towards other accommodation.
