Tooth fairy fined 7k for helping whānau smile again, can you give back and help her continue to serve the low income community in Northland
Kaikohe, Northland
With over 22 years experience as a dental technician, Claire has been a massive help to whānau in Te Taitokerau and abroad by giving low income earners the chance to smile again. Dubbed the ‘Tooth Fairy’, she offered affordable denture services from her Northland home clinic. To many she was an everyday hero, which came to an end when 12 officials from the Ministry of Health and the police forcefully raided her home, traumatising her children. After a gruelling 5 year long court battle the District Court has fined her a total of $7,000 for practicing without a license, plus the additional four thousand dollar cost in legal fees. As a busy wife, and mother to 9 children and 2 mokos this cost is a huge burden for their whānau. Claire has a dream to become fully qualified and set up a denture school in the north. She has a fine arts degree in sculpture, a trained eye for detail and 22 years building up an incredible skill base for denture making and repair. Her only kaupapa was to help others. Can you help her and her whānau by contributing anything great or small to ease their burden and help her become qualified so she can continue serving their community.

I am a friend and was also a customer of the Tooth Fairy.
All Funds raised will go directly to Claire and her whānau to help cover the court costs, fines and any extra will help get her qualified and set up a denture clinic in the North.
