Help Vikki fight Melanoma Cancer

  • Hospital visit

Vikki spent a few days in Auckland Public last week - you could say Keytruda was working 'too well' and she now needs to take a break from infusions. And true to Vikki's nature, if you can't get to work - get work to come to you. Here's Vikki 'not talking shop' with her colleagues during their lunch break. #GoVikki

  • Vikki's interview in Sunday Star Times

    http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/politics/77886595/keytruda-debate-big-pharma-spends-millions-to-woo-political-support-for-expensive-drugs

Keytruda costs around $8000 (depending on body weight) per treatment and must be administered in a private clinic which is an additional cost of $3000 each time. The fee for Vikki's treatment is $11,000 every three weeks.

We're going to keep fundraising for Vikki and campaigning hard to have this drug funded for all New Zealanders.

  • Vikki shares her story

      24 February 2016
    Main image

    http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/health/77212945/fundraising-for-lifesaving-melanoma-treatment-keytruda

Vikki met with Catrin Owen, house reporter for Suburban Newspapers Auckland yesterday to share her story and raise awareness for the need to have Keytruda funded.

Catrin did a sterling job and Vikki especially wanted to stress the importance for all New Zealanders with advanced melanoma to have access to pembrolizumab.

Vikki and I would also like to thank our cousin Cindy Penny, family and friends and Vikki's colleagues at Auckland City Hospital for their amazing support. And to make public how incredibly thankful and humbled she feels by the love and generosity she has received.

    Tracey xx

  • So far so good!

      16 February 2016

This was taken last Friday during Vikki's first Keytruda infusion. Although the treatment itself was complete within an hour, it was quite a big day. We're happy to report that Vikki has only experienced minimal side effects of nausea and fatigue. She's doing great.

Your support has been fantastic and we appreciate everything you are doing to help Vikki.

    Go Vikki.

And more good news, Vikki’s first treatment is due to begin at the end of this week.

We know you wish her all the best.

    Thank you to you all.
