This page is to help fund my holiday to Greece on completion of my Social Work degree.

Taranaki

I am a 21 year old student studying towards my Social Work degree that I wish to complete in 2019. I am currently not working and finding it quite hard to save even if I have a little bit of cash flow going. I am not asking for big donations please, but just a little bit here and there to cover the cost that I might not be able to do.

To be completely honest, this is the first time in my life that I am 100% motivated and committed to finish something I start. I want to make a change in the world, like I had when I was young and had nowhere to go. My adoptive parents gave my sister and I a second chance and I intend to grab this opportunity with both hands and keep going until I am a registered Social Worker helping those in need.

My name means firm defender/determined protector and I am the stubborn one in the family, so more than anything this is a challenge that I have set myself, and I expect to keep doing that in my life. I find it very hard to leave my comfort zone and ask for help, but here I am asking for a helping hand, and a little bit of faith in me. The holiday to Greece will be my reward for accomplishing the task I set myself.

If I fail in the task of completing my degree, or if I end up only needing a little bit of the money donated, I will donate the rest to the "I Have a Dream Charitable Trust" to help kids from a low-income household to reach for their dream. You can read about them here http://www.ihaveadream.org.nz/

Thank you!
