A Givealittle page -to awhi Sariah with aroha & practical support from friends & whānau, so she can focus on her oranga & time with whānau.
Nationwide
Last year, our beautiful Sariah’s world changed forever.
From finding a lump in July, to a Stage 4 breast cancer diagnosis in October, to starting her first round of chemotherapy in November. Her year overwhelming in every way. All of this came while she was already grieving the loss of her Daddy. Nothing prepares you for that level of loss, fear, or learning to live with an incurable cancer.
Sariah’s decision-making has been guided by medical advice and karakia, seeking balance and guidance from both her oncology team and her faith.
Sariah was presented with four treatment options:
1. Hormone treatment only
2. Chemotherapy + hormone treatment
3. Aggressive chemotherapy with targeted radiation
4. All of the above
Each option with the same goal: to shrink the cancer, slow its progression, and, if possible, turn it into something chronic that she can live with. Sariah chose Option 4 giving herself every possible chance at more time, more moments and more life.
Throughout this haerenga, Sariah has also been passionate about raising awareness. She is fearless, meets each challenge with kaha & courage. Sariah is radiant, whole and full of love for her whānau & community. She is bold & creative, holding space & sharing her story for others while staying true to herself. Sariah teaches. She inspires. Sariah cares deeply & faces every step of her haerenga with determination and aroha. She is our wāhine toa - showing what it means to live fully, love fiercely and rise with grace.
Sariah has been a beautiful friend since our teaching days together. She carries aroha & manaaki in everything she does. Sariah is one of the kindest, most special people I know, with the biggest heart, smile & infectious laugh.
