Honey Bee Rescue
Canterbury
We are a couple in Canterbury who have a passion for bees and beekeeping, we're a Mum and Dad type of operation. As well as looking after our own bees we rescue and rehome swarms that occur in our area, we do this completely at our own cost. So far this spring and summer we have rescued 16 swarms, provided a home for them, treated them for varroa mites and will be keeping an eye on them for any other diseases. Providing homes for these swarms costs a great deal of money in gear, hives, frames, treatments, petrol, etc. If we get called to a swarm we drop everything and go. We have used up many hive boxes, bases, lids, hive mats, and frames that we had put aside for our own colonies, we make as much gear as possible but some equipment we do not have the tools for. Bee gear is expensive, we could really do with some help to continue with our community honey bee rescue operation.
Any money received will go towards hive boxes, frames, hive mats, lids, bases, all things needed to give rescued honey bees a home.
