Honoring Mereana's Memory: Help Ease the Burden

It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the loss of our dear Mereana, wife, mother, daughter, aunt, cousin and friend to so many. Although we rejoice that she is finally freed from pain and is now flying high and singing in the choir of angels, we will sorely miss her physical presence until "the soul shall be restored to the body, and the body to the soul; yea, and every limb and joint shall be restored to its body, yea, even a hair of the head shall not be lost; but all things shall be restored to their proper and perfect frame". (Alma 40:23).

For 20 years, she has valiantly and miraculously battled with brain cancer. Despite her challenges, she lived her life to the fullest spreading love and sunshine everywhere she went.

The last few years have been challenging for the Nickelchoks, as Ryan was out of work for about seven months nearly two years ago. During that time, they incurred significant uncovered treatment and scan costs, which used up all their savings and put them considerably behind on mortgage payments.

Adding to their financial strain, the parent company of Ryan's workplace recently restructured the business, making his role redundant. This means his income in the coming months is uncertain. With no life insurance (Mereana has not been eligible for over 20 years), the family is now at risk of losing their home soon after losing Mereana.
