Honouring Katikati’s David Hart

Tragically on Monday 2nd January the serious crash in the Athenree Gorge involved a local family. Sadly, Dave passed away and Glenda is in stable condition in hospital, where she will be for around 6 weeks and she will need rehab for many more months.

The community may already know their daughter Debbie and her husband Roy either through their community involvement or help given to the family, so that Kobie, their son, can spend more time with his Dad who has stage 4 terminal cancer.

Dave was a pillar of our community and always the first person to put his hand up, whether it be with Parents of the School Group, helping with disco, comedy show or whatever else needed doing. He also helped local Katikati Sea Scouts, Cricket, and Soccer.

The goal of this fundraiser is to help with funeral expenses (ACC will provide some financial support to the family), travel expenses to and from the hospital, and Glenda’s rehabilitation. Please join us to wrap this family in love and support for their difficult journey.
