Stand with Samara: Supporting Her Family Through Leukaemia
Less than a month ago, Samara—a loving wife, devoted mother of two children aged 12 and 14, and a truly kind and caring person—was suddenly diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia. In an instant, her family’s world was turned upside down.
Samara is now in Waikato Hospital receiving full-time care and has begun intensive chemotherapy. She faces at least six months of treatment, followed by many more months of recovery—a long, exhausting journey that no family should have to face alone.
Unable to work, Samara can no longer help provide for her family. Her husband runs a small family business in Tauranga and is working hard as their sole income earner, while also trying to be there for Samara and their children. Everyday bills continue, alongside the added cost of travelling to Waikato Hospital for precious family visits.
Samara would be the first to offer help, comfort or a donation to someone in need. Now it is our turn to wrap her family in that same love and support. Every contribution, no matter the size, will help ease the financial pressure so they can focus on what matters most: Samara’s treatment, recovery and time together as a family.
Samara has been my ride-or-die friend for 27 years—the first to champion you, stand beside you and always have your back, no matter the situation. Now it’s our turn to do the same for her.
Cost of living, mortgage, power bills, food bills.
Cost of travel to and from Tauranga to Waikato for precious family time
Thank you so much 16 October 2026
Thank you so much for the generous donations in the last 24 hours, every dollar helps and i wanted to extend a thank you on behalf of Samara and her family.
Samara is having a rough ride with her first round of chemo now done, however due to having zero immune system is developing infections here and there, the hospital team is doing their thing, and she is getting well looked after.
