Join us in supporting the resilient people of Syria, by providing essential aid to rebuild lives after years of hardship and instability

Glenfield, Auckland

Dear friends and kind-hearted supporters,

I am reaching out to you with a heavy heart and a plea for help. My beloved city of Salamiyah, Hama, Syria, has been enduring unimaginable hardships. After 14 years of war and poverty, our situation has worsened. Our previous president fled to Russia, leaving us in an even more dire economic state. The new government is struggling to stabilize, and many people, including my extended family and friends, are left without salaries or jobs.

We are in desperate need of your support to survive these challenging times. Your generous donations through our Givealittle page will provide essential aid, including food, medical supplies, and basic necessities, to those who are suffering the most. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference in the lives of the people of Salamiyah. I plan to transfer the funds to my sister, Alyaa, in Dubai and then she will send the money to my mum, Eiman, with the help of someone traveling to Syria.

Please join us in this effort to bring hope and relief to our community. Together, we can make a positive impact and help rebuild the lives of those affected by this crisis.

Thank you for your kindness and generosity.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Nahed

Trapped in Despair: A Place Where Survival Feels Impossible and there is No way out  3 April 2025

The situation in Syria remains deeply concerning, with safety and economic conditions continuing to deteriorate. Years of conflict have left the country in a fragile state, with widespread poverty affecting nearly 90% of the population. Economic collapse has led to soaring inflation, unemployment, and a weakened currency. Families struggle to afford basic necessities, and many face food insecurity and malnutrition.

Tragically, violence continues to claim lives, with civilians often caught in the crossfire of ongoing clashes. The loss of life and the trauma endured by families are heartbreaking reminders of the urgent need for support and solidarity. Your contributions can provide relief and hope to those enduring these unimaginable hardships.
