Hit and run victims need your support
On Monday November 5th 2018 my family were victims of a hit and run that killed our dog and hospitalised my father. My twelve year old brother was about to take our beloved Lucy for a walk when a man in a large Ute deliberately swerved for them . Killing Lucy instantly, missing my brother by only a few inches. The driver then reversed and drove towards my father , hitting him with the bullbars before fleeing the scene . My dad has sustained serious injuries and was rushed to hospital and is now awaiting surgery. My family and I have no idea who this man is . He has since been arrested and is now awaiting trial. Due to the trauma my brother can not sleep as all he can see is his dog being killed while he held the other end of her leash. Any funds raised would be used towards transport to and from hospital , medical costs and counseling etc my brother may need
Use of Funds:
Transport to and from hospital from Milton to Dunedin medical cost and psychiatric trauma support. The only person covered by acc is my father ( Anthony hogeboom). Our local gp has sent a referral for trauma and grief counseling but unfortunately this is not covered by acc as they were not the main victim. This is also in Dunedin however they have been put on waiting lists and urgently need to speak to a professional
