Hora Hora Scouts to the New Zealand Jamboree
Our aim is to take 8 youth and 2 leaders to the New Zealand Jamboree in Marlborough at the end of the year.
Northland
The New Zealand Jamboree is a 10 day adventure held every 3 years and for most scouts they only get one opportunity to attend. At the end of 2016 the jamboree is being held in Renwick, Marlborough.
At the jamboree the scouts are responsible for camping standards, cooking, cleaning, while enjoying a range of activities such as shooting, kayaking, fishing, visit the aviation museum, experience military style activities, abseiling, team building challenges and much more. Jamboree is the highlight of the youths time while a scout and many come back again as adults to give back to their local community and provide the same experience for others

I am involved as the Northern Nightmares troop leader, taking the Hora Hora to jamboree. I am also the chairperson of the Hora Hora Jamboree Fundraising committee
About us
Hora Hora Scout Group is based in Whangarei for youth aged from 6-18. The programme is focused around four cornerstones: outdoors, community, new experiences and personal development. Our aim for 2016 is to take 8 youth and 2 leaders down to the New Zealand Jamboree in Blenheim. Jamboree is the highlight of their time as a scout.
