Some bad luck on guy Fawkes

On guy Fawkes night a horse was in town with its owner and got lose down the road running into my car as everyone would have seen by now.. I cannot contact the owner of the horse nor can I find them.. I have been told owner of the horse is liable for any damages but have not heard anything now I am left with no transport for work etc
