House Fire from Fireworks

Taupo, Waikato

The public sale and use of fire works has always been under scrutiny for the unnecessary risk it poses to animals, people and properties. Unfortunately on Saturday night, and only 6 weeks till Christmas, my sister and her husband were woken to the sound of fireworks to then shortly discover the roof on their house had caught fire. Within minutes the house was completely ruined along with the majority of their belongings. They escaped with only a few treasured items.

As is the case with most people, you never think you'll need to use your house insurance or the entire value of your contents insurance so it's never going to be enough cover.

They are going to need more to help pay for temporary accommodation while the house is rebuilt, and replacing everything down to their underwear.

Any amount would be much appreciated.
