    Hi everyone.

This has been a roller coaster for ol’ Howey, but we just want to say a huge massive thank you to everyone who was so lovely and helped out, no matter the size of the donation every single dollar and share counts. So thank you all from the bottom of our hearts!

Howey is now getting back to his usual self! Although he still has a wheeze and coughs, his wounds are slowly healing and he’s definitely pushing through the recovery. The hard part is now over. He wouldn’t have been able to get the care he needed, and do it without you guys so again THANK YOU EVERYONE 🩵🩵🩵

Lots of love from Howey and the Matthews Clan 🫶🏼

      9 May 2025

    Hi everyone.

Howey has been eating more often and is walking around more, but his throat has not improved much since being back at home. He still has a lot of trouble breathing and with panic attacks. He must be so uncomfortable. Poor thing.

Please continue to share this around, this is still the very beginning of his healing process and he still needs as much help as he can get.

Once again thank you so much to everyone who has helped us so far, we’re overwhelmed with the support and so so grateful for you all!!

Howey has now been discharged from Hospital as the vets think the environment might be stressing him out, and any stress can cause his airway to close up and prevent him from breathing.

He is now under 24/7 care back at home, while needing ongoing vet visits for the next 6 weeks.

He has several puncture wounds around his neck area, including one deep open wound slightly smaller than a pea. This hole goes directly into his airways, (quite a gruesome sight) but he must remain with the bandage off to allow air to travel into his internal wounds and help heal his trachea.

We will be monitoring closely for infections and healing and he progresses. He is now taking oral medication, and his breathing seems to be getting better. Although it must hurt him a lot to breathe as he quivers with each breath. Poor pup. He is still having panic attacks, one this morning which stopped him breathing for minute or so, so we are trying to keep him as comfortable as possible.

We still have around $2,400 owing on his emergency vet bill, and he will need 2-3 vet visits per week from now on, costing around $150 each time.

Your generosity has helped Howey pup so much.

Please continue to share this around as we still need as much help as we can get.

Thank you again everyone 🩵 I will update tomorrow xx
