At Maia Ataahua we are first focusing on technology.

We asked: How can we harness the resources that we have an ensure they are safe to use?

We Asked: How do you prove the many different forms of abuse in a one page document?

Our philosophy is that apps are not safe as phones can be taken and monitored. So we have focused on a website based ‘vault’ that will be accessible and hidden from immediate view.

We also want to educate users on what abuse is. This way validating that their fear is real and they shouldn't second guess their own instincts.

I understand what it feels like to gaslight myself into thinking what happened was in my head, i know what it feels like to look back at foggy memories and struggle to recall dates.

And I know what it feels like to be scared.

Our answer: Project Hydra, a web based diary that can be submitted in court.

As we hit final stages of development we have reached out to consultants to assist in testing and ensuring this is a tool that can be useful and effective.

By using a web based app, your phone my be taken, but your records wont be. And thats important because so many of our lives are monitored and controlled.
