Fundraising to assist Hunter with life changing physical therapy for Cerebral Palsy
Papamoa, Bay Of Plenty
Hunter was born at 27 weeks and ended up with a whole range of medical conditions due to medical complications - brain bleeds, spastic hemiplegia cerebral palsy, craniosynostosis and a VP shunt to name a few.
Hunter currently has a physiotherapy program but with his muscles growing and getting worse because of the CP we are really wanting to ramp up his movement and came across an intensive therapy programme over on the Gold Coast, Australia called “Centre of Movement” where he would undergo 3 hours a day, 5 days a week for an intensive 3 week programme. Unfortunately New Zealand does not currently offer an intensive therapy programme such as this and we believe this would be hugely beneficial for Hunter and his goals to live as much of a normal life as he can. The programme will hopefully offer Hunter more movement in his limbs to be able to do the things all of us take for granted.
The funds raised would go towards the $8200 AUD programme, flights, accommodation and transport.
We did unfortunately miss out on the pop up clinic being held in Rotorua this year with a very long wait list. So are waiting on new dates for Australia.
Any funds raised will be hugely appreciated to help Hunter.
Hunter is our only child
These funds will be spent on Hunters programme at Centre of Movement and getting us over to Australia
If we do not reach our goal the funds will still be used as we are pushing ahead to get Hunter over there, we will find another way!
