Hutt City Animal Services

Seaview, Lower Hutt

This page has been created as we sometimes get people asking if they are able to donate towards helping our dogs get adopted. This may be because they have adopted from us in the past, or have recently adopted a dog that is "free" as there were no costs associated with the adoption and they wish to "pay it forward" to another dogs adoption fees. We have also had previous adoptees pass away and rather than flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to continue helping adoption dogs.

We have multiple dogs come in to our care who find themselves looking for new homes. These dogs may find themselves at the shelter for a number of reasons. They may have been found roaming loose and impounded and not claimed, relinquished due to a change in circumstances etc. All dogs are temperament & health checked prior to being placed up for adoption.

Our team at Hutt City Council Animal Services run the dog shelters for Lower Hutt, Wellington & we also care for & rehome dogs for Upper Hutt Council.

We are committed to finding great homes for as many dogs as we can.
