On 5th of November 2024 a devastating arson attack targeted a mosque in Auckland, causing extensive damage and leaving the local Muslim community deeply shaken. This sacred space, which has been a place of worship, peace, and community gathering, was severely damaged, disrupting the lives of those who rely on it for spiritual and social support.
We are reaching out to raise funds to help rebuild and restore the mosque. The contributions will go towards repairing the damage, replacing essential resources, and enhancing security to ensure this remains a safe haven for all. We do have coverage, however, given the extensive damage caused by the fire, we are not fully certain of the extent to which our insurance will cover the restoration costs which is expected to be quite high.

Dear brothers and sisters,
We wanted to share an update on the recent developments at Imam Reza Mosque. The process of cleaning and restoring the mosque has begun. The damage caused by the attack is extensive, and we’ve had to remove many burnt items, as well as strip down the walls and ceilings.
We are deeply humbled by the outpouring of support and prayers from our community during this challenging time. Your kindness and solidarity have been a source of strength for us all.
Though the road ahead is long, we remain united and steadfast in our faith. Together, with resilience and determination, we will rebuild Imam Reza Mosque and restore it as a place of worship, peace, and community.
