  • A Final Thank you

      1 January 2026

As our family comes to the close of this season of farewell, we want to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who supported us during this time.

Thank you to all who donated, contributed in cash at the service, sent messages, shared memories, travelled near and far, or simply held our family in your prayers and thoughts. Every act of kindness—big or small—wrapped us in love when we needed it most.

A very special thank you to the Matiu family of Ponsonby. Your generosity, presence, and unwavering support meant more to us than words can express. You stood beside our aiga-whānau with true aroha and manaakitanga, and we will always hold that close to our hearts.

As we step into a new year, we wish you all peace, health, and many blessings ahead.

Happy New Year to you and your families.

    Ngā mihi nui,

    With love and gratitude,

    Our Whānau 🤍

  • Thank you

      28 December 2025

We are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of love and support shown to our family during this time. Every donation, message, and share has meant more than words can express. Your kindness has helped carry us through one of the hardest moments of our lives, and we do not take that lightly.

As we continue to navigate the days ahead, we have updated our fundraising target to $9,000 to help cover outstanding bills and final expenses. We will be closing the Givealittle page on January 28, allowing us to settle these obligations and begin the next chapter with peace of mind.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with us—near and far. Your generosity, aroha, and support have been a true reflection of community and love.

    Ngā mihi aroha 🤍

  • Yesterday was magic

      28 December 2025

Yesterday’s farewell for Mum was more than we ever imagined. She brought people together from 30 years ago—reuniting family, reconnecting friends, and gently weaving back bonds we didn’t even realise we needed. There was so much love in one place. Some people hadn’t seen each other in over 20 years, yet it felt like no time had passed.

It’s unfortunate that a funeral is sometimes what brings people back together—but yesterday was something special. It was comforting. It was healing. It was magic in a way that’s hard to explain.

Thank you to everyone who stood with us, near and far. Your love carried us.

    Ngā mihi aroha 🤍
