After losing her mum and sister to cancer, Rachel needs our help, let’s lift her up with love and support in this time of grief
Waikato, Waikato District
Hi everyone,
I’ve created this GoFundMe for my beautiful friend and coworker, Rachel Sharp, who is walking through unimaginable heartbreak.
Not long ago, Rachel lost her beloved sister to cancer. Now, she’s saying goodbye to her precious mum, Glennis, who passed away on July 16th just days after her 68th birthday after a sudden and devastating turn in her cancer battle.
Rachel was her mum’s rock her caregiver, advocate, and constant companion while also raising her own child and holding down jobs. She gave everything she had to keep her mum comfortable and surrounded by love.
Rachel is one of the kindest, strongest souls you’ll ever meet. She’s the first to show up for others, always quietly carrying so much with grace and never asking for help. But right now, she needs us.
The pain of this loss is deep, and on top of it, Rachel and her dad are facing the heavy weight of funeral costs and everyday expenses that don’t pause for grief.
This fundraiser is a small way to give Rachel space to breathe, to mourn, and to begin healing without the crushing stress of finances.
If you’ve known this kind of loss, or just feel moved to help, please consider donating. Any amount will ease the burden.
And if you can’t give, a share or kind word means more than you know.
Let’s hold Rachel the way she’s held so many. ❤️
Rachel became my dear friend for life after we met working together at Giltrap Agrizone Cambridge, and I’ve seen firsthand her strength, kindness, and the challenges she’s facing now
The funds will help cover the remaining $8,000 in funeral expenses and support Rachel and her family with everyday living costs as they grieve and begin to heal during this difficult time
