In Loving Memory of Tyler Porter. Supporting His Family

  • Thank you all again.

I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for the support over the past almost 4 weeks from helping in the search, sharing posts, providing CCTV, sending kind messages, delivering meals, making donations, offering prayers and so much more. No parent ever plans to bury their child and certainly not under such heartbreaking circumstances. Every act of kindness has made our entire family’s load a little lighter as we try to find our feet and navigate a new normal. We want you all to know how deeply appreciative we are and we will never be able to thank you all enough.

We are still living in a time of heavy loss and confusion, trying to make sense of why our boy was taken so young, way too soon. The police investigation is still ongoing and while it may take some time before we have answers, we remain hopeful that answers will come in time.

    Thank you all again.💙

820 of you have come together to support this grieving family, and I’m so deeply thankful for each of you. What we’ve raised together means the world to Tyler’s family and friends. I’m truly overwhelmed by the generosity, kindness, and love shown here. Because of your support, Tyler will receive the farewell he so greatly deserved.

As I stood on the beach this morning rain and all looking at all the flowers left for Ty, I felt the love and support. It really shows how amazing the community on the Hibiscus Coast is, and how far that support has reached across the country and even overseas.

Thank you to everyone who shared or commented on posts, took time out of your lives to help us, passed on information, or even just sending love our way. It’s meant the world to our family.

We’re forever broken and nothing will ever be the same again but there’s something about knowing our boy made it back to his favourite beach and even though it was raining, the sky turned a nice blue for a moment like he was somehow still with us.

    X

Hello Shara-lee, and the family of Tyler, from another 'Arkles local'.

The growing tribute around ‘Tyler’s tree’ has, I believe, a profound meaning as this is the only tree currently in the bay which has new fresh shoots of life. Whilst the grief of his loss will be immensely painful to you all at this time, I believe that the picture of this Pohutukawa tree encourages you all to remember him well, and that time will heal, and as these new shoots of life represent, so too will his memory gradually fill the Tyler shaped hole left in your hearts. ❤️‍🩹

Many hearts of others in our wonderful Arkles community grieve with you all and there are no words to fully carry the weight of your sorrow, however I lift you all in daily prayer, trusting that the God of Comfort is near to you all in this darkest valley, and that you will continue be refreshed with wonderful memories of your boy. 🙏❤️ Roger
