Ingage is a “therapy wrapped in fun” programme where children in foster care heal, grow, and belong through play, trust, and connection.

Immerse Charitable Trust has been running a program called Ingage a “therapy wrapped in fun” programme held every second Saturday during the school term since 2018. Children and young people in foster care arrive at Ingage: a space filled with love, laughter, and safety. Each child is greeted by their own trained, trauma-informed adult buddy who supports them throughout the day. Together, they learn, play, grow, and heal through activities that build trust, confidence, and self-regulation.

At Ingage, children who have experienced trauma, attachment challenges, and hardship can develop self-regulation skills, build trust, and discover what it means to belong. Through nurture groups, play, and shared adventures, they find a place where they are seen, valued, and supported while caregivers (foster parents) receive a well-deserved respite.

We want to finish 2025 with a celebration that reflects the incredible progress and growth our children have achieved throughout the year, a trip to Rainbow’s End! For some, it will be their first time at a theme park; for all, it will be a day to laugh, connect, show courage, and create joyful memories in a safe, supportive environment.

By supporting Ingage, you’re giving more than a fun day out. You’re helping build trust, confidence, and lifelong memories for children who need it most giving them the simple yet powerful gift of childhood joy.

Immerse is a foster care agency founded by experienced Kiwi caregivers. Our mission is to see a transformed and transformational culture of foster care in Aotearoa.

Use of funds

Funds raised will go directly toward the end-of-year Ingage outing to Rainbow’s End, covering entry tickets, bus transport, meals, and snacks so every tamaiti can participate.

We just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported Ingage through Givealittle. Your generosity truly makes a difference in the lives of our tamariki.

Because of you, our Ingage group was able to enjoy an incredible day at Rainbow’s End, celebrating a year of growth for our tamariki. For some, it was their very first time at a theme park. There were a few nervous moments, lots of bravery, and so much laughter shared between each tamaiti and their buddy. It was one of those days full of smiles, connection, and memories we know they’ll hold onto.

Your support helps make days like this possible. Not just special outings, but the relationships, structure, and safe spaces that our tamariki need to grow and thrive.
