Supporting youth to participate in a huge event, the IronMaori, while honouring the memory of a passionate, loving man, Brandon Edwardson.
Northland
In February my workmate Brandon took his own life. He had just been promoted to Operations Manager at the Youth Centre we both worked at and had a beautiful family. There were no signs of his inner turmoil.
Brandon spoke with pride about completing the IronMaori half ironman event with his Dad and Brother. I have entered the same event this year to honour Brandon and fundraise towards a cause that Brandon would appreciate and support. Ironically, the Ironmaori is held in Napier where I spent Brandon’s last week with him and our team connecting with Youth Centres throughout the area.
The funds raised will go towards an inspiring new venture created and run by Coast to Coast Mentoring to assist 8-10 vulnerable youth from throughout Northland, Te Taitokerau, to participate in the IronMaori event every year. This incredible experience opens up ongoing opportunities for youth to work alongside positive role models and with the support from whanau, achieve goals, encourage new pathways and make healthy life choices.
Brandon was extremely passionate about youth work and making a difference in young lives and within the community.
Any donations will be greatly appreciated.
I have previously worked with James from Coast to Coast Mentoring. James is passionate about youth work and making a difference in young lives and within the community.
The money raised will be spent on all aspects of supporting young people with successfully competing and completing their part in the IronMaori event: Training sessions, training equipment, competition clothing, nutrition, travel and accommodation.
