Please Help Wanaka Sisters To Excel On The World Stage

$5,750 of $15,000 goal

Ski racing for New Zealand on the International racing circuit.

Wanaka, Otago

We are humbly asking for financial support from the Wanaka/Queenstown and New Zealand community towards the costs of our efforts to represent NZ at the highest level of our sport, The World Cup Circuit.

Recently recruited to Chris Knight's International Women's Ski Racing Team we are striving for excellence, putting every possible effort into technical, fitness, mental training, nutrition & recovery.

Izzy

14 years old from Wanaka, Otago

2022 & 2023 NZ National GS Titles, this year winning by 7.66 seconds

2023 season ranked #1 female U14 ski racer, Switzerland

2022 & 2023 Grand Prix Migros Winner in Switzerland (largest youth race in the world with over 7000 competitors)

2023 Central Swiss Championships Winner & Rubin Cup & Imholz Cup series winner.

Mathilda

15 years old from Wanaka, Otago

NZ Alpine Youth Squad 2021, 2022, 2023

2022 U16 NZ National Champion

2023 Central Swiss Champion GS

This year I moved to adult FIS racing. Unfortunately due to a minor health problem I only spent 3 weeks on NZ snow but I'm heading to Europe in a few weeks for more training before competition season begins.

Snowsports New Zealand doesn't contribute financially to alpine ski racing so the total cost falls to our family. Aside from grant applications and this page we are also trying to raise money for ourselves through the publishing of a children's book "Abigail the Snail" which Mathilda wrote and illustrated and selling neck buffs through our small business "Tildy & Iz".

Thank you

Use of funds

Money raised will go towards our yearly combined coaching fee of NZ$50,000, travel, accommodation and van hire. Money will be received by our parents on our behalf.

Thank you for your support  20 February 2024

A quick update. The season has been going well in Italy. Mathilda is slowly lowering the FIS points which is not easy in fields of 140 girls and Izzy has been making the podium in local and inter regional Italian U16 races with her biggest achievement to date this year making 3rd place in Slalom in the International FIS children's race Pokal Loka in Slovenia with 28 nations competing. Great to be achieving top results throughout Europe. Thank you to everyone for supporting our journey. It is very much appreciated.
