Our beloved fighter Atty. Aik Albao is back in St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital in Guangzhou, China for the 2nd round of his interventional therapy to fight pancreatic cancer . He is accompanied by his dear wife Myra throughout the whole duration of their stay there.

Our patient has now regained his appetite after days of shrugging off the effects of the interventional therapy.
His blood test showed that my WBC is 2.9. and as indicated Injection have to administered to me ASAP as recommended.
Bilirubin is still above the range but is way low than the previous results and hopefully is steadily going down with the help of take home Traditional Chinese Medicines.
We hope and pray that the effects of the immunotherapy will set in and boost his resistance to fight the cancer cells in my body.
As indicated in his discharge summary I am expected to be back on Nov. 11 for my 2nd interventional therapy.
He left the hospital with a promissory note to settle before his return.
We are grateful to those who responded to our urgent appeal of financial assistance. I still have to settle the said obligation.
Our family continues to raise the necessary amount for his next visit. We had been praying and begging for help. I continue to trust that God will provide.

Interventional therapy was done last Oct. 21. Our patient experienced two chilling episodes yesterday, morning and evening. He had high Blood Pressure and fever. It however subsided several hours later after he took plenty of lukewarm water and given a suppository.
He also had his chemotherapy thru IV late afternoon just before the chilling episode in the evening. He is ok now. BP is normal as well as his body temperature.
The blood drawn from him last Oct. 21 and cultured for ten (10) days will be injected back to his system on Oct. 30. This is the procedure called immunotherapy intended to boost his immune system.
The PTBD bag has registered no drain for three (3) days already. It could be that the blockage in the common bile duct is gone. Doctors said they will observe and might possibly remove the PTBD tube.

We have a long way to go, but knowing we have helping hands and shoulders to lean on gives us strength to go on! 💪

We celebrate and rest for now, but we cannot let our guard down just yet, as it seems Cancer wants a rematch.
Based on his official Discharge Summary, the tumor at the head of his pancreas has metastasized to the other end of his pancreas. Hence, the NanoKnife procedure on Sept. 21 had to be accompanied with radioactive seed implants to prevent further spread of the tumor.
Because of this unexpected development, he is being made to return to the hospital in China for follow-up and interventional therapy on Oct. 16. He will then stay there for at least two (2) weeks. He will also have to return on Nov. 16, stay for another two (2) weeks, then return again on Dec. 16, and stay for another two (2) weeks.
Each 2-week stay will cost us a whopping 300k-400k (250k-interventional therapy, 2-week hospital stay, flight expenses to and from China) which right now, we honestly do not know yet where we will get.
With this, with all humility, WE ASK FOR YOUR HELP ONCE AGAIN, because we know we cannot do this alone.

We now turn our focus to interventional therapy!!
Nano Knife procedure has reduced the size of the tumor. And together with the seed implants it has manage to control it.
Interventional therapy is the next procedure that my brother Aik has to go through. It is a follow up procedure that is synonymous to chemotherapy but it will pass through the femoral vein. He is supposed to come back to China on the 16th or 17th of October to have the first Interventional therapy.
The journey is not yet over. We pray for faith, hope and charity.

NANO KNIFE Procedure and SEED IMPLANTATION today SEPT. 21, 2017 2pm at St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital. After 3 week stay, the doctors finally gave a go signal for the procedure.
Another procedure that is needed before my brother can go for his Nano-Knife treatment which will be scheduled as soon as they travel to China on the 25th of August.
