Taking IT professionals off their chairs and into the ring to raise awareness of the issues of suicide in NZ

Wellington

Welcome to Computer Concepts IT Heavy Hitters, the Wellington white collar charity boxing event that you simply must be part of. The next event is May 2nd 2015 and promises to deliver a night to remember.

The IT Heavy Hitters event of 2014 raised over $30,000 for The Key to Life Charitable Trust and we are currently working with the team to pull this together again. The Key to Life Charitable Trust is a registered charitable trust aiming to affect positive social change surrounding suicide prevention, suicide awareness and mental health in New Zealand. It's a great cause and we look forward to making a difference to those affected by these issues.

We'll take a group of IT professionals, provide qualified training and instruction and glove them up. The result is an evening of explosive boxing action. You don't need any experience to fight at IT Heavy Hitters, you'll be trained by professional coaches in Wellington and helped with all aspects of theory and practical boxing. On the night you'll choose your walkout song, step into the arena and put all of your training into 3x2 minute rounds, scored and refereed by qualified officials.

The fight night main event will be the Doug McLay Memorial Fight, Doug was an inspiration to many boxers and is sorely missed throughout the sporting communities he was involved in.

Find and like us on Facebook or Twitter for the latest news on the next big night, or if you have any questions about the event feel free to drop us an email - info@itheavyhitters.co.nz

We raise money for the Key to Life Charitable Trust so they can travel the country, visiting schools to talk to people about issues surrounding mental health, suicide and other pressures people face.
