Jake Stoneman - always there for everyone else, now we need to be there for him.

4.5 months ago we were thrown a curveball of monstrous proportions.  Within a couple of hours of Jake suffering a crippling headache he was hospitalised & diagnosed as suffering from a subarachnoid haemorrhage aka a brain bleed aka a stroke.

In the following 17 days that Jake was in hospital our family had so much love & support piled on our little family.  It meant the world to us, we could focus on fighting a terrifying battle without worrying too much about what the days and months ahead would bring.

Today, Jake has had the big tick of approval from the specialists.  His latest MRI is boring (we love boring) and they are more than  happy with his progress.  He is under orders to listen to his body & not to go lifting gearboxes etc.

We were waiting for this day so we could share that news with you & also to say thank you.  Thank you to Paul Manuell for setting up the givealittle page, it brought me to tears when I didn't think I had any left.  You, my friend, are a genuine legend.  And thank you to everyone that chipped in.  You provided us a security buffer that is treasured.  You are all an incredible community & we are eternally grateful for what you all did for us.  Your thoughtfulness & generosity overwhelmed us. Thank you, thank you, thank you, you're the extended family we never knew we had ❤

    Have a wonderful weekend

    Teresa, Jake, Luke & Billie

  • JAKES PROGRESS

      16 July 2024

    Hey everyone, Paul here

Firstly thanks again for everyone support...Jake and Teressa are so grateful for the support, recovery will be slow so what you have done here is so meaningful, kind and well recieved, so i thank you and the Jakemans thank you

restores some Humanity , especially in the times we are all in at the moment.

please fwd this onto others, share on email , facebook etc if we can

i spoke with Jake yesterday, progress will be slow , but he has his sense of humor back and is on a great path..

    Terresa has fwdd this

The first week at home has been a lesson in boundaries. Namely, if you want a solid base for your body to rehab from you need to listen to your body, consume plenty of good food, do some moving around and sleep when you need to. You can't fight it and you can't end the day with an energy deficit. You'll pay for it the entire following day. For someone who is an 'active relaxer' it's not a lesson easily learnt. In the words of Gordon Ramsey, "don't f*ck this up". Thank goodness there's been plenty of motorsport to watch for mental stimulation and its the perfect excuse to occupy the couch. He's looking forward to catching up with everyone, it's just going to take a bit. Everyone has blown us away with their generosity and we can't thank you all enough. Having 1 less worry, when every minute has been filled with plenty of them, gives us a little more peace. We now know what feeling eternally grateful feels like.

    thanks Everyone :)..

  • Jakes update

      3 July 2024

    Hey all you awesome humans

thanks so much everyone, plse share the page

Jake has a long recovery, pretty hard to slow this one down too !

From the initial bleed ,surgeries, drains , antibiotics and infections , things are slowly progressing, everyone is positive as possible , including Jake. We cant visit yet but apparently its getting closer.

The good thing is progress is positive

But a long Recovery, which is where we all come in with this

Thanks so much for assisting in making a differance with the Stonemans long Journey ahead.

i will update as changes arise
