We would like to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who donated towards this project.
The javelin runway was completed in late January, and we have now used it for an official competition!
The ribbon was cut by NZ Javelin Champion, Tori Peeters, and the Hutt Valley Mayor, Campbell Barry, alongside our founder (Shaka Sola) and Javelin coach (Andrew Harrison).
We had some overseas champions come to our competition and compete from Japan and France. We also had the Samoan javelin record was broken (by Auckland based Donny Tuimaseve) and a seasons best by the French champion (Felise Vahai Sosaia).
The runway has made a big difference to the academy, and we have now installed all the throwing areas required to coach them all events to high standard.
So once again, thank you for your support!
