Do you want to help me help make a real difference for future female leaders of tomorrow?

Every girl deserves equal access to education, they are the mothers and educators of tomorrow. I am lucky enough to have grown up in a family that sees this as true. My own daughter has access to every opportunity including education.

In some parts of the world, this isn’t the reality. In Kunda, Northern India, a part of the world I often travel to, I have seen first-hand how young girls are often treated as 2nd class citizens, not worthy of educating.

You may recall that I am someone who is very fond of her creature comforts and strenuous exercise is not really part of my lifestyle!...however my passion and commitment to supporting education for girls has compelled me to take up this challenge; to embark on a journey that will be both physically and mentally challenging as part of creating awareness and support for this cause.

I have decided to do something really crazy - My 17 day trek to Everest base camp is a personal challenge for me, and with every step I take, I want it to be for a good cause and I want you on my journey with me.

While I have fully funded the cost of the trip and the hike, I ask you, my friends and family, to support this cause. 95% of your valuable donation will be given directly to Deepavali Charitable Trust ( 5% service fee applied by Givealittle organisation for use of this site).

These funds will help to provide the girls with an education as well as bicycles, clothing and stationery - these necessities help to remove the obstacles which prevent girls from attending school and expanding their minds.

I have seen first hand how these girls, when given the right education, grow up to be the ones who better their own communities. I am now seeing graduates returning to their school to teach and create the next generation of educated women leaders

With your donation, you offer the opportunities you would want for your own mother, sister and daughter.

Every step counts, every dollar counts and certainly, every girl counts.
