    update on my Johnny Boy

he has spent the last 10 months in Ronald McDonald house and Christchurch hospital and massive treatment to fight this leukemia. What a wonderful place he meet people he will never forget. He had some very hard long days. A lot of time in surgery. Now Dad, mum Karen and Johnny Boy have been moved to ISIS Dunedin, this is for massive rehabilitation to get his legs moving again and he has started a massive 2 year block of chemotherapy to beat this awful disease. It's a big change from the bright friendly colourful Ronald McDonald house that he got use to. So fingers crossed he doesn't have to stay very long and gets a nice new home that will help him live day to day without any struggles. Thank you to everyone for all your support. Every cent helps and all goes towards keeping Johnny Boy happy and safe with Dad and mum.

  • 2017 update for Johnny Boy

      24 January 2017

well I am so super proud of my little brother Johnny Boy he is now 20 years old. And he is still fighting this massive battle with leukemia. he is in the middle of a huge 8 week block of the strongest chemotherapy you can have. It is knocking him about he has not eaten for over a month. The tube feed is keeping him alive. The type of cancer he has the specialist explained it's not like a tumor you can cut out and have Chemo and be sent home. Johnny Boy has had a bad reaction to the chemo and can no longer walk and that has caused massive wasting in his legs. He will need months and months of physio to see if he will walk again. he still has months to go in Christchurch and when he is strong enough to be able to go back to invercargill he will be flown up every month for the next 2 years to have more chemo as its in his blood so the treatment is troumendous. He has many hard hills to climb and needs lots of support. I would like to say thank you to all the people that have sent messages and gifts and words of support it all helps and we are very greatful. love you to the moon and back my wee Johnny Boy. I will be right beside you as often as I can. And also a massive thank you to Dr Tristan and Jane and all the wonderful nurses. And Gail and Sue my family couldn't do this with out you. Jodi
