"We finally got some good news! Joshua had a CT scan at starship yesterday, it showed that the pins are holding the hip together nicely and things have finally started to heal without any movement from being in the hip spika! So the plan going forward will be to get a new narrower full cast on next week (one that allows him to fit into a wheelchair) and then all going well 3 weeks after that they will look at having the plaster only going to his knee so he can get a bit more freedom and movement in both legs. No talk of how long the spika will stay on overall yet though but we're so relieved that we have proof that he's on the mend finally!"
also Josh is able to have some schooling in the rehab centre on the 9th of Feb Nic updated us with this
"Well today has been an interesting day. Josh started school today, we went and met his teacher and saw the classroom, he was not impressed. He started physio today also, he can work on his upper body and get his good leg moving from his bed, he was not impressed. He cannot understand why he should have to do anything else when he has told everyone that he has to stay in bed and get his hip better, I actually don't blame him, that is exactly why we're here so he can stay in bed and get his hip better, it's a very logical argument lol. He is going to be testing the patience of the people he met today I think! They have an awesome set up here though, the classroom is just down the hall and we can push him there in his bed. The physio room is fully equipped and if he gives everyone a chance he'll do well. Some grumpy and amusing times ahead I think!"
Lets all hope that things continue to improve for this brave boy!!!!!!
