Redressing Clergy abuse in New Zealand and Australia, at the International Survivors meetings 2023, in Rome, Italy.
Christchurch, Canterbury
Darryl Smith has suffered attacks at the hands of predatory Roman Catholic clergy during his childhood and adolesence.
He has written numerous books, two of which are 'Silent No More' and 'A Shattered Life'.
In 2019 he was sent by the Bishop of Dunedin, Michael Dooley to the Vatican Summit on Child Abuse for Minors, where he presented a very informative presentation called 'This is my Justice'. This was based on his personal experiences at a Christchurch school.
He also met and supported other survivors, and has many documents concerning 'Abuse in Care' at the Royal Commission.
Darryl is planning to go to Rome, Italy, again in September for the international survivors meeting to represent New Zealand, and is looking for donations towards paying for airfares, accommodation whilst in Rome, meals and transfers. He will return home on October 4th 2023.
I was introduced to Darryl by a friend.
