Julia Hunt Shave for Ciara Age 2

  • Update for 25/04/2011

      25 April 2011

Please see attached photos of the shave and also two video clip. Sorry for the delay in posting an update. ?Every time I have gone on to do it the system has crashed. ?Very frustrating! Anyway so the shave went very well. ?Lots of parents and children turned up to watch the 5 teachers and myself have their head shaved. ?We were also very happy that Ciara and her mummy were able to come and watch which was an added bonus to us all. ?As soon as the shave finished Ciara and Jane went straight to the airport to head up to Christchurch so Ciara good undergo more chemo. The kids at daycare had been discussing all week what would be happening and had been shown the clippers that were going to be used and told it wouldn't hurt so they knew what to expect. ?As adults we all agreed not to show any sadness in our faces at our hair being cut and to portray it was a joyous event! It was good fun and we have raised in excess of $5,000 so far. ? Thank you for all your donations and also please continue to donate to this very worthy cause. ? Love and hugs? Jules?

Hi all Well just over 24 hours to go..... Along with donations pledged outside of this site I am personally up to $2,340. ?In addition to this, Oanaka Daycare have been receiving pledges as well. ?Thank you so much for all the donations - please keep them coming if you can. ?Every little helps to this wonderful cause. ?I was a little uncertain about shaving my hair until I text with Jayne, Ciara's, mum last night.... ?Ciara had another operation last week and her trachey was removed which is a good thing. ?Jayne said Ciara was a little star and recovered from the operation quickly. ?However discussions are still taking place as to whether little Ciara needs radiation or not. ? They travel back up to Christchurch tomorrow for more chemo and to get the results from the op.... ?More chemo ?and pain for a little girl that is so ?adorable...... shaving my hair for the Ciara and her family - its the least I can do...? Thank you all for your donations With love? Jules

Thank you all for making generous donations I really appreciate it! ?I ?have spent the day looking at hats in town. ?With winter approaching I think I will need a nice warm wool one! The trouble is beanies don't really suit me at the best of times and I am thinking with no hair down my face i will look like an egg with an egg cosy on top! ??It is so lovely that so many people have donated their money. ?Along with the money donated on this site I have total donations to date of $1,365!!!!! I am so happy! ? This is brilliant as my starting target was $750. ?If I can make $1,500 I will be over the moon! Thank you all again Jules
