Wellington

Julian passed away suddenly in Edinburgh just before Christmas, aged 39, leaving behind his loving wife Jess and two amazing young children, Freya (4) and Jack (18 months).

As you know Julian, Jess, Freya and Jack were due to return to New Zealand at the beginning of February.

Julian finished his fixed term contract the day before he died, and Jess is a stay at home mum at the moment. With no life insurance or will, Jess, Freya and Jack now face an uncertain financial future.

Dear Davidson family, I have literally just found out that Julian has passed away so I apologise for not donating or passing on my sympathies earlier. Words can’t express how saddened I am to hear this news. I won’t be known to the family, however I can say that I am honoured to have known Julian; he was my manager at SEGA as well as my mentor and friend. I can honestly say that Julian was one of the kindest, most well principled and honourable people I have ever met and I am grateful for the years I spent working with him. He hired me as a young graduate and taught me so much about diligence, standards and professionalism that I still hold dear today. Not only was Julian instrumental in my career, he also got me into running and we ran the London marathon together in 2009 – he wasn’t nearly as fast 10 years ago as he turned out to be with his crazy challenges and determination! Julian was a wonderful human being and I feel privileged to have been a small part of his life. My deepest sympathies to everyone. Ben
