After five surgeries and being released from Starship hospital in November, Kade was transferred to the Wilson Centre where he was receiving rehabilitation from occupational therapists, physiotherapists and speech therapists. Kade's right side of his body was affected by paralysis and his rehabilitation has been focused to help with his walking, arm/hand movement and speech & language.

Kade has been making good progress, especially with walking and speech/language.

Unfortunately after being on the mend Kade was transferred back to Starship in the weekend, very unwell, with a suspected infection. He underwent surgery On Sunday.

Unfortunately Kade had to have more surgery yesterday and during this they found that Kades brain and skull were extremely infected. It looks like it had been breeding away for a while.

Kade has a shunt and it had been draining the infection into his stomach which caused infection there as well as his brain/skull.

They have given it a good clean out, and removed his skull again, so now we are looking at weeks of IV antibiotics and then eventually he will have to head back into surgery where a titanium plate will be put in, to replace his missing bone (skull). All of this, and look at that smile, this kid is AMAZING, so beautiful and patient. Love him so much, so brave xxx

Thank you to all for your generosity and well wishes

Kade is now in starship hospital, he was flown up here with the intention of waiting for a bed at the Wilson Centre, which is a rehabilitation clinic.

Unfortunately an MRI scan on Tuesday showed that he had an infection in his brain that was not helped by antibiotics, so he went in for emergency surgery at 1am on Saturday morning to remove it. They were worried that the surgery may damage the area of the brain that helps with muscle movement.

He got out of surgery at 5AM and they were reasonably happy after removing another blood clot and cleaning the area.

He is now recovering from surgery and still has little movement on his right side. So we will now be waiting longer to get into the rehabilitation centre.

A huge thank you so far to everyone for their help, messages, texts, love and support - Theresa, Kade and family xox
