Kaihautu Maurirere Smith Update

Kia ora ra and thank you all family and friends!
The mammoth amount of financial and emotional support we have received from you all for our son has made this exasperating journey far more tolerable so thank you so very very much. The following update may not be the news you want to read but it is real and it is factual.
We are now on cycle 4 of 9 chemotherapy cycles. The recovery from each of these cycles as you can imagine takes a huge toll resulting in multiple blood and platelet transfusions for Kaihautu. These transfusions are in order to combat the high risk of internal bleeding, the inflammation and the ulcers he gets in his throat and stomach.
A MRI [full body scan] is scheduled for 16th of March, this will look for further cancerous tumors.
Again we thank you all for your support and assistance and ask for your continued positive energy as this extrarenal malignant rhabdoid tumor is a deadly disease with a poor survival rate.
