The Crimson Coast EV Highway Tai Tokerau - Stage 1, is a network of 5 fast chargers for Electric Vehicles. The network is a joint project funded by ChargeNet NZ and EECA and supported by NRC, FNDC and Top Energy. The mural is of a tūī, maunga and kohekohe fruit on a massive scale by renowned artists Charles and Janine Williams. It's designed to breath life into an area that needed some love and tell the story of Kaikohekohe. ChargeNet and FNDC are part funding the project, with more needed in donations to cover the costs of around $8000. Ākau have been instrumental in making this project happen by organizing community volunteers to clean and paint the base coat and organising all of the scaffolding and wananga. Resene Kaikohe has supplied the mould wash, paint, brushes, rollers for free. We hope it becomes a place to visit and tourist attraction when in Kaikohe. We also hope it helps out a town that has had some tough times but shows wonderful spirit and connectedness through its resilient and strong community. To make this happen we need your help. If you want to see this happen, please help us reach our goal of $3000. Donations to support the painting of the mural are gratefully recieved. Kia ora! http://www.charlesjaninewilliams.com/
I am the project fund raiser for a mural to help beautify the area and show Kaikohe some aroha. Thanks also to local volunteers, artists, Ākau, Resene Paints Waipapa and Kaikohe, along with Far North District Council and ChargeNet NZ for their support.
The money will go directly to help pay for the two artists and materials. The artists have supported the project by way of a special discount and are sharing their skills and korero in street art with local Kaikohe kids.
Thanks so much Rolf and Inge!!
Thanks heaps Steve!
