Donate to get more bike trails in Kaikoura
Marlborough
Kaikoura Cycling is a small club with a big project and need your help. The club is building an 8km loop trail with 400 metres verticle on Mt Fyffe. The trail will be free to ride. The club has put all its resources into this but need some help to get it completed. If you're a rider from anywhere between Bluff and Malborough who would like a ride in Kaikoura please help us out. We hope to have this finished in Septemeber. We have been an active club since 2011 with the main goal to develop cycle trails in the Kaikoura district and get more people on bikes.
We have just started the new Kaiterau trail, a 8ish kilometer trail up and down Mt Fyffe. This trail goes through a Doc reserve, it will wind its way through regenerating native forest arriving near 400 vertical meters with fantastic views of the Kaikoura Peninsula. The up trail will be a shared use oneway walking and biking track with a gradient of 3 to 5 degrees, the down will be a winding intermediate bermed corner descent, again one way only. Linking town with our already created trail network, it creates a unique experience of riding from the coastal beaches to the alpine ridges of Mt Fyffe. We have planned and worked for over a year to get this stage of starting this project.
Our Mission is to raise more funds to go towards this project to make it the world class ride that it can be.
100% will go towards the trail network in Kaikoura. Kaikoura Cycling is run by volunteers from the community.
