Today was the first bandage change since her operation on Tuesday. Went really well with the wounds looking quite clean. We took the drain out and rebandaged her. She has been enjoying some equissage to keep her comfortable too.
Toady (03/11/15) Black Bullet underwent her second surgery since she ripped her leg open on the electric fence to have a sequestrum removed. Her leg had become infected and swollen so hopefully now the loose bit of bone has been removed and the canon bone scraped back to healthy bone, she will continue her healing process. The operation went very sucessful and we are hopeful the infection will now improve.
Thank you so much everyone for your support, we now have enough to cover the gelding costs for both boys of which I am extremely grateful. Boys were gelded last week, because we just had to do it regardless. Both are healing nicely and we will start working with them again next week in preparation for their visit from the dentist. Which is yet another cost. but still very necessary. The chestnut boy Soldier is still a little thin, and I am concerned he has hooks on his back teeth that will need floating as soon as possible to make him comfortable and will then be able to eat without pain.
