Katie's Journey to Health

My best friend is endeavouring on a new journey to health. She has made a huge decision to undergo weightloss surgery and make a commitment to totally transform herself and lifestyle to a happier, healthy life.

She has gone public with her story on Instagram, sharing her struggles with B.E.D. as well as the flip side of this disorder, which included starving herself in order to try lose weight and maintain the weight she had lost. I am so proud of her taking charge of her health and want to help her out and show that myself and all of you support her and are behind her.

Katie is a caring and giving person who is always ready and willing to help others. The weight loss surgery is being done privately and costs just over $20,000. Katie and her husband have made the decision to fund this themselves as they feel it is imperative for Katie’s health that she has the surgery.

It is a huge cost for them so I'd like to raise some funds to go towards skin removal surgeries that will need to happen down the line. Katie has been very open about her struggles with her weight, mental health and eating disorders and it is rough hand she has been dealt where her mental struggles and life experiences have lead her to a place of poor physical, life threatening health.
