  • Radiation

Today Karyn had her first session of radiation therapy. She will be in Christchurch away from her family on a weekly basis, going home on Fridays and heading back to Christchurch on Mondays.

This is the time that she really needs your help. She is getting half her wages covered while she's having treatment but along with only getting half her pay she also has the extra costs of being away from home. Any small donation will be very much appreciated during this time.

First up, thankyou so much for all who have donated to date. Your generosity is very much appreciated and has really helped Karyn and Grant during this trying time.

Karyn had her last round of chemo.last week and it must have been lucky last as she didn't end up back in hospital this time!!

Next up is an appointment with her oncologist the first week of June to see that the chemo has done its thing and to set the plan for radiation. In Christchurch for five days a week for 3 weeks and only partial income. So please please share this page so we can get as much support as possible.

    Many thanks.

  • Third time's a charm (kind of)

A quick update on Karyn. She had her 3rd chemo treatment just over 2 weeks ago and managed to stay out of hospital this time, apart from a quick overnight visit. Her final treatment will be on Monday, so hopefully that one is trouble free.

She then has a four week break then into the financially draining part, 3 weeks of radiation in Christchurch. The hope is to drive over Monday mornings and return Friday evenings after 5 days of treatment. During this time Karyn will not be working obviously so it's going to get tough. Any donation no matter how small will go a long way over that time.

I visited Karyn with Mum over the weekend and she looked great and is doing well. Although she gets a bit pissed off as her energy levels are nowhere near where they usually are. But she's doing all the right things.

There is light at the end of the tunnel.

Massive thanks to who those who have donated so far. Karyn can not believe how much support she has out there and is so grateful. ❤

On Monday Karyn had her second round of chemo, and so far so good. None of the drama of the first one thank goodness. Her hair was falling out in clumps so last night she shaved it off. And she sure is rocking it!! She's so lucky to have great friends and family supporting her during this time. Thank you so much for all the donations so far, it's really helped.

  • THANKYOU

Thanks everyone who has donated so far, it really is greatly appreciated and Karynnis overwhelmed by the support.

Karyn has been in hospital since Wednesday as her heart rate is dangerously high and she's feeling terrible. After many blood tests, IV antibiotics and fluids along with some xrays the doctors have decided this morning her body isn't absorbing fluids which in turn leaves her dehydrated and puts her heart rate up. Not a great start to her treatment but as this hiccup isn't covered by compassionate leave your donations will certainly come in handy.

Here's hoping the doctors have her sorted out soon and she can get back home to her family.
