    Hello lovely people.

It has been a year since a debilitating brain aneurysm struck Dianne and changed her life forever.

Dianne is now at home in Tauranga recovering with her family including her sister Darlene who arrived from the Philippines a few months ago. Dianne has complete awareness of what is going around her. She demonstrates different emotions such as happiness and sadness. She goes out for a stroll in her wheelchair on a regular basis especially on a clear sunny weather.

There may be a long, painful road ahead of her but the family has strong faith in our Lord almighty that one day she will get up and walk.

Despite the challenges, sleepless nights, heartaches, the Lictao family is still fighting through your support and prayers. It is amazing how this page has touched a lot of people from all over the world. The outpouring love and support to the family continues. Words are not enough to show everyone how grateful they are.

Lictao family also received a great news today- their family residence visa application has been approved. God is so good!

With their permission, I have attached a few photos.

We will continue to update you of her progress. Once again, thank you and God bless you all.

    Hello whanau!

Sorry it has been a while since the last update. It has been challenging for the family due to the current covid situation in Auckland but God's faithfulness remains.

Dianne has been transferred to HDU and has been there for a few weeks now while rehabilitation is ongoing. While her neurologic progress is on a slow steady state, the rest of her organs are stable. Dianne still has tracheostomy in place but is requiring minimal support for oxygentaion.

Dianne's EVD (extraventricular drain -responsible for draining CSF from the brain) has been removed. A series of CT head has been performed to ensure there is no build up of excess fluid within the ventricles of her brain. These have showed positive signs therefore she does not need a VP shunt for now.

Furtheremore, there are plans in place to have her transferred to the nearest neuro facility to Tauranga which is in Hamilton. This will make it easier for family and friends to support her ongoing treatment.

Once again, we would like to thank the medical staff of Auckland hospital Neuro ward. We understand that it has not been easy, having to deal with pandemic but you never fail to provide the best of care.

We also want to thank everyone for your ongoing prayers. More than anything, this is what Dianne needs.

    God bless you all!

  • Dianne's progress

      5 August 2021

Dianne continues to recover in ICU. Great news is she is now breathing on her own via tracheostomy with minimal support from the ventilator. She opens her eyes spontaneously and is now focusing and tracking (another good neurologic progress).

While Dianne faces a long rehabilitation ahead of her, everyday single progress she makes is a great miracle from God. She was given under 5% of chance to live but with prayers and faith she is fighting to testify that nothing is impossible.

Once again, we would like to thank you for all your support and words and encouragement. This has been an enormous help for the Lictao family in this difficult time.

      29 July 2021

Dianne continues to receive one on one care in ICU.

She is moving one side of her body in response to pain.

While the rest of her organs (lungs, kidneys, liver, stomach) are functioning well, her brain is still healing.

At this point, the doctors are still waiting for Dianne to show positive changes like being able to breathe on her own without the ventilator before they can take the course of treatment to another level.

Thank you so much for all your support and prayers. The family is overwhelmed.

We believe that God is moving and will continue to do miracles in Dianne's life.

  • MRI update

      23 July 2021

The doctors gave Dianne until Wednesday to show some positive signs. For the neurosurgical team to make a decision as to how far the life support goes, an MRI was performed.

It revealed improving circulation around the brainstem.

This is indeed a true sign that our God is a miracle working God.

Dianne continues to open her eyes spontaneously and some movements on her limbs have also been witnessed by her family.

On behalf of the Lictao family, we would like to thank you for all your support and words of encouragement.

Let us continue to pray for her. May God bless you abundantly.

    Arise Diane, arise!

  • Update on Dianne's condition

      20 July 2021

The neurosurgeons have decided to put the surgery on hold and wait a few more days to see what Dianne's neurologic response without sedation.

At the moment, Dianne is opening her eyes spontaneously. She is not out of the woods yet but we strongly believe that we serve a powerful God and nothing is impossible.

    KEEP FIGHTING DIANNE!
