Wellington Free Ambulance are the one and only paramedic service in Greater Wellington and Wairarapa, and the only one in the country who are free!

We are the ones who help 1 in 10 of our friends and family every year, and attend around 140 incidents every day.

Wellington Free was founded in 1927 on the belief that money should not be a barrier for seeking help. We are one unique city, region and service, and the ones who can continue thanks to your donations.

The majority of the team work together at Wellington Free Ambulance, so we (along with a few friends) decided to form a team and raise some funds to go towards the $4 million Wellington Free needs to raise every year to help keep the service free.

About us

Wellington Free Ambulance is the only emergency ambulance service for Greater Wellington and the Wairarapa - and the only one in the country that's free. As well as our lights and sirens emergency ambulance service, we operate a Clinical Communications Centre (the reassuring voices at the end of your 111 call), run a Patient Transfer Service, offer Event Medical Services, and provide free community CPR training through The Lloyd Morrison Foundation Heartbeat programme.
