We are raising money to help keep our bus run going!
Hawke's Bay
We are a small rural school nestled under the Ruahine Ranges. We currently have a roll of 24 kids made up of 13 local families. We have a partly ministry funded bus run but due to cutbacks in ministry funding over recent years our school and parent community have had to cover the extra costs of getting our school bus to our students, at a cost of $2000 a term for basic extensions on the run. Due to Covid-19 restrictions and being in drought, we haven't been able to hold our usual school fundraisers and we are now facing the reality of losing these extensions. Our community is spread far and wide and the implications of losing these extensions could be dire for our small school. We are desperately seeking assistance in raising $4000 to keep these extensions in place for the remainder of the school year, which will give us time to pursue alternative options for next year.
Our school has been open and serving the Kereru community since 1912. We have a deep rooted history in the area and offer our kids a unique schooling experience, with small class sizes and a strong community spirit. Please help us keep our bus extensions and access to education as easy as possible!
