Support for Pine and Rohatai for her terminal cancer treatment.

Tokomaru Bay, Gisborne

Rohatai Pewhairangi and Pine Campbell have spent a great deal of their lives creating a Māori language learning environment, helping people to speak reo. Their commitment to the whenua is also clear and weaved not only into how they live their lives, but also into their language teaching. Many are the richer for their teachings.

Their whānau of seven tamariki and twenty mokopuna brings them a lot of joy.

Rohatai and Pine are no strangers to hard work. Their focus to return to Tokomaru Bay and to build a home that is principled on Para Kore (zero waste) is an example of this. Their mahi includes teaching reo, facilitating seminars, providing boutique BnB accommodation and selling arts and crafts.

Their bliss is working hard and living simply. Their whānau, friends, community, horses, cats and the wonderful gardens that they have grown – keep them happy.

Rohatai and Pine prefer to help others! It’s who they are.

Recently Rohatai was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer which has affected much of her body. Pine and Rohatai are rolling up their sleeves and facing this challenge head on. They have already immersed themselves in a care plan for Rohatai by focusing on diet, medications, supplements, alternative and conventional therapies. In a nutshell these two are chucking everything they have at this.

Life throws us curve balls and this one is going to take a village to beat! That village is all of us!

Setting up a Give A Little Page quite frankly is out of their comfort zone, however with the current pandemic continuing to play havoc for everyone, this page allows us to koha easily and directly to them.

Rohatai and Pine have shifted to a disciplined diet and whilst they are self-sufficient eco earth warriors –let me tell you they don’t have a never-ending supply of the nuts, seeds and super foods that Rohatai needs to beat this!

Additionally, they have hospital visits, specialist appointments and travel from Tokomaru to Gisborne and Waikato to get Rohatai what she needs. Funds from this page will be used to directly support the increasing costs to manage Rohatai’s healthcare needs.

So, let’s help them beat this!

Let’s get Rohatai back on her horses and the two of these folks back to doing what they do best – helping others, living simply, being with their whānau and loving each other.
