    Update from Hayloon:

Thursday last week, Teresa was finally transferred back to Dunedin hospital after her successful surgery in Christchurch. She spent a night in ICU and is now currently in the ward. We are now awaiting for further assessment on when rehabilitation could start.

Baby Estella has been discharged home over the weekend with her aunt Grace looking after her. With mum finally back, Estella will now be able to have daily cuddles with her whole family again.

Nio is now back to school and be with his mates and he couldn't be more excited!

I now wish to take this opportunity to thank everyone who continues to support our whole family:

    - to friends who visited and stayed with me and new friends I met in Christchurch,

    - to our friends and staff who all looked after Estella for three weeks in Dunedin while Nio and I were with Teresa in Christchurch.

    - to everyone who participated in the triathlon fundraiser

    - to the staff in Dunedin and Christchurch hospital who had looked after Teresa

    - and to the rest of our friends, family and the wider community who showered us with overwhelming love and support,

words are not enough to express how very grateful I am to each and everyone of you. I am truly humbled. Your thoughtfulness is a gift I will always treasure. May God bless you all.

On the 12th September, one of ICU Dunedin's consultants, Markus Renner had organised a Triathlon Fundraiser to help the Sevilla family.

He wishes to thank everyone who participated.

Summing up the total distance, between the cyclist and the runners, they had covered 398.2 kms (just a little bit over the distance from Dunedin Hospital to Christchurch Hospital, which is 361 km's).

Markus and the rest of the team wish Teresa a speedy recovery. All our thoughts and prayers are with her. :)

Really great thing you've done here Markus and everyone who joined in. If there's another one I'll join the run to help raise more $ for the family. The team at ICU and Dunedin Hospital are really talented and caring people so YAY for you!!

  • Update from Hayloon

      4 September 2020

Good day everyone Hayloon had kindly asked me to thank you all for your continued support and give you an update on how they are doing.

Earlier this week, Teresa was flown to Christchurch. She had another operation yesterday and her surgeon was confident that it was successful.

Also yesterday (3rd September), our wee star Estella celebrated her first moth and was dolled up for her milestone. She remains in NICU as a border and well looked after by wonderful staff. While Hayloon and Nio are both in Christchurch to be with Teresa, Estella's aunties and uncles in ICU, and mum and dad's friends are taking turns looking after her.

The long road to recovery is now within the horizon. Kia kaha Teresa, the nightmare is almost over. It will be morning soon <3

Hayloon wishes to thank everyone for the overwhelming outpouring of aroha. He has read every one of your kind words, prayers and messages and has kindly asked me to give you all an update.

Beautiful Estella is still in NICU and is continuing to grow strong and healthy. She enjoys everyday cuddles with dad and regular visits to ICU to be with mum.

Teresa has had her surgery last week but is still in induced coma while she awaits further assessments.

Teresa, heaven has been holding conversations about you as we continue to storm it with prayers. Our faith shall move mountains. 🧡🧡

Merciful and loving God, through your mighty and awesome power, open our mind, heart, eyes and ears to comprehend and believe more fully and hear more richly your perfect plans for Teresa and family. Master, we toiled all night and took nothing! But at your word I will let down the nets. Luke 5:5. We put all our trust in you Lord. May you be worshiped and glorified by every tribe and tongue. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
